Marlon Guerrero, MD, FACS is an Associate Professor in the Division of General Surgery, Section of Surgical Oncology and Vice Chair of Quality and Performance in the Department of Surgery, University of Arizona. Dr. Guerrero received his BS in Biology from California State University, East Bay after graduating Cum laude. He earned his medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN where he was elected into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his general surgery residency from the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX where he was awarded the St. Luke’s Hospital Resident of the Year award in 2005. Dr. Guerrero became interested in treating endocrine tumors and disorders after his training at the MD Anderson Cancer Center. He entered a prestigious Endocrine Surgery Fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco under the mentorship of the legendary Dr. Orlo H. Clark. He joined the department of surgery at the University of Arizona in July 2009 as Director of Endocrine Surgery. He holds many adjunct positions within the College of Medicine.
