The Department clinical team provides care for people suffering from illnesses of the head and neck. Our faculty are highly trained in their specialty areas to deliver the most advanced medical and surgical care available. The global mission of the Department of Otolaryngology is to improve ear, nose, and throat care within and around the state of Arizona through exemplary clinical medicine, basic/translational research, and the training of next-generation Otolaryngologists.
Dr. Steven J. Wang joined the University of Arizona on June 1, 2016 and became the new Chair of the Department. Dr. Wang brought his expertise in treatment of disorders of the Head and Neck, including tumors of the oral cavity, throat, thyroid and salivary glands. Dr. Wang continued the Department’s growth and expansion, including new clinical and research faculty recruitments in head and neck cancer and pediatric otolaryngology.
Philanthropy makes sure we continue pursuing the most innovative solutions to Otolaryngology's most pressing problems. It provides seed-funding for new research projects. It kick starts a novel research project, enables a breakthrough clinical trial, and supports students as they become the brave caregivers of tomorrow. Most importantly, it helps us improve care, save more lives, and create healthier and safer communities.
